OUR MISSION
Our mission is to meet practical needs in Orangevale and Fair Oaks by creating opportunities for generosity and selflessness. We believe our community will be best when it is giving and serving together.
In 2011, the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Food Bank was launched with the purpose of bringing together local volunteer & donor resources to support families in need. In 2015, the vision expanded beyond the food bank and the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Community Foundation was born. The Orangevale-Fair Oaks is now one of several community programs geared toward meeting practical needs in the Orangevale & Fair Oaks. Our programs include the Big Day of Service, HART of Orangevale & Fair Oaks, Food Bank Farm, OV Summer Nights, and several others. We also have big dreams to advance the good work of the Community Foundation, and invite you to join us!

Launched in 2011, the Orangevale Food Bank now provides healthy food options to families in need around Orangevale and Fair Oaks. Serving over 1,000 people per month with 150+ weekly volunteers from around our area, this organization represents our value of "neighbors helping neighbors". The food bank partners with local grocery stores, schools, churches, clubs and members of our community to create a place that cares for many families every week.
We believe it is important to create moments for our community to rally together around something bigger than ourselves. Life is most fulfilling when it is given away, and community service is a wonderful place to start. This one-day event is designed to connect people in our community with local organizations that could benefit from teams of volunteers coming alongside them in the work they do.
In late 2020, we launched a one acre vegetable farm in Orangevale next door to the food bank. This non-profit community farm runs with an amazing team of volunteers to grow fresh, healthy food for our neighbors in need. In addition to growing food, we are also growing community by beautifying our neighborhood and providing opportunities for neighbors to help neighbors.
Summer concert series launched in 2020. They are planned to be annual gathering to build awareness for the food bank and thank the community for amazing support.
An annual grant program which will allows non-profits to apply for grant funding which will improve the wellbeing of people living in Fair Oaks and Orangevale. Programs focused on impacting youth of our community are prioritized.
A quarterly program that supports our local restaurants as well as community members in need through an opportunity to "pay what you can" for dinner out. Each week, for 6 weeks, we sponsor up to 100 dinners from a local restaurant and invite our neighbors to help us say "Dinners On Us"!
The mission of HART of Orangevale-Fair Oaks is to assist our at-risk neighbors and those experiencing homelessness to move toward self-sufficiency and greater independence. This is carried out by a dedicated group of compassionate volunteers in collaboration with community members, faith-based organizations and local businesses.
